There are many options and opportunities for GUCians to come to Germany. Please select your current status.
A) As GUC undergraduate student
- Doing your bachlor project at a German partner university
Each year GUC offers its top ranked Engineering and Management students in the 8th semester to do their bachelor project at a German partner university. The minimum GPA is 2.5. The bachelor project lasts three months, additionally and depending on the project a (lab) internship from one till three months can be conducted before writing the bachelor thesis itself. The available timeframe is each year from February till August.
- Participating in activity weeks
Twice a year GUC offers activity weeks for all faculties in different cities in Germany. These courses and workshops contain excursions and leisure activities.
- Participating in a DAAD specialization course
During the GUC summer break DAAD specialization courses will be arranged by German partner universities and offered to top ranked students of the respective GUC faculty. These courses last three weeks and contain an intensive course, excursions and a cultural program.
Top ranked students are eligible for a DAAD scholarship. The announcement of those specialization courses is run by GUC.
- Participating in a summer language course
The application procedure is run directly by GUC end of each year. GUC will address the top ranked students and might offer scholarships to the best of the top ranked students.
There are regular offers for GUC summer language courses during the summer break. Such courses last one month and contain language classes, excursions and cultural events. The announcement is run directly through the GUC German Center.
In addition, DAAD German language courses will be offered during the summer break. Top ranked students are eligible for a DAAD scholarship.
B) As GUC bachelor degree holder

C) As GUC graduate student / teaching assistant
- Doing your master project at a German partner university
GUC master students / teaching assistants of all faculties can do their master projects at a German partner university. The master project last six months, additionally a (lab) internship from one to two months can be conducted before writing the master thesis itself. The available time frame is each year from July till February.
The application procedure is run by GUC. Eligible candidates can apply for a DAAD scholarship.
D) As GUC postgraduate / academic
- Doing a research stay within a co-supervised PhD project
GUC PhD students being part of a bilateral research project (GUC - German partner university) can conduct a subproject (e.g. experimental parts) of their PhD project in Germany. Thereby it is not relevant if the doctoral degree will be awarded through the GUC or the German university. This bilateral studies program aims to establish and develop Egyptian-German research networks and cooperation as well as to implement an International Research Center.
