Chairman's Visiting Student Program Cairo

A) Background

Taking into consideration the increasing interest among German students from outside Baden-Wuerttemberg to join GUC as visiting students, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Prime Founder of GUC, Prof. Ashraf Mansour established the Chairman’s Visiting Student Program.

Undergraduate students enrolled at a state university in Germany are eligible to be granted an exemption from tuition fees at GUC for one to two semesters, to join GUC as a visiting full time student (receiving ECTS points is possible).

The maximum number of exempted students will be 15 per semester.

B) Process for Interested Students

Please check GUC's acadamic programs and course catalogue to find out if the courses offered match your academic interests and are offered during the time you intend to spend at GUC.

Kindly coordinate with your home university’s academic advisor if the courses’ credit points you would like to take at GUC can be transferred to your home university.

Please hand in your application through the International Office of your home university to ensure appropiate coordination. The application (all papers in English) shall include:

  • Student Application Form
  • CV
  • Letter of Motivation (including description of how the stay at GUC and the courses taken at GUC will add to his/her academic and personal profile)
  • Transcript of Records from home university (in English or with English translation)
  • Proof of Language Profficiency (e.g. DAAD Language Certification Minimum B2 level)
  • Certificate of Matriculation/Enrollement at a German State University (valid for the time spent as GUC Visiting student)
  • Copy of passport and birth certificate

All applications shall be sent to GUC German Office. If your application fulfills all formal requirements it will be forwarded to GUC for the Chairman’s nomination and Admission Office approval.
Once your application has been nominated and approved, GUC Admission Office will contact you regarding your selection of courses, e.g. if all of the courses take place during the semester you are planning to spend at GUC.

When you have a finalized list of available courses we recommend that you request for a “learning agreement” with your home university’s International Office to make sure that the credit points acquired at GUC will be accepted at your home university.

While preparing for your stay at GUC please stay in touch with Admission Office for enrollment and other organizational issues.

Kindly note that acceptance to the Chairman’s Visiting Student Program ONLY covers an exemption from tuition fee. You will still have to cover all other costs related to your stay, e.g. travel, insurance, accommodation, food etc.

Application deadline is the 31st of October.
