Joint Teaching

During the pandemic, the great potential of digital teaching formats has become apparent. One of the major factors being the flexibility that learning in a "digital classroom" provides. Students can access course materials and lectures at any time, allowing them to learn at their own pace and they can participate in courses from anywhere in the world, reducing the need for commuting and enabling a more diverse student body. This factor particularly motivated us to explore opportunities of joint teaching formats organised in cooperation between the GUC and a German partner, that not only serve the purpose of transnational cooperation but also enhance the learning outcome by making use of digital learning resources in an efficient way.

This idea was realised in a pilot joint teaching course named "Advanced Research Topics in IT-Security" which took place in 2021 and provided students from the GUC as well as Ulm University with a unique opportunity to study, work and collaborate with each other through the use of online teaching resources. The great results that were made led us to implement joint teaching as an instrument and provide funding to realise similar joint teaching formats with the GUC and German partners.

The courses should be organised in cooperation between teching staff at the GUC and a partner from a German higher education institution.
